On April 15, the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum opened In the After-Image solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Medina. The exhibition featured the works made with oil and acrylic painting, mosaic, stained glass, digital media, and carpet technique. These works reflect the artist’s visual language and creative method.
As the exhibition curator, I was responsible for everything from spatial design and curation to building the installation crew. My work involved fine-tuning lighting and AV systems, managing technical procurement, and personally overseeing the setup and opening nights. I also handled the technical adaptation of multimedia pieces for multi-screen projections.
A grand opening ceremony was held on the evening of April 14, with the participation of high-profile representatives from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture, and the Academy of Arts. The event garnered widespread media attention across the region.
The show has been a huge hit, and we even received a surprise invitation to take it to Budapest in June under the Azerbaijan-Hungary cultural cooperation program! The exhibition stays in Baku until May 15, so if you're around, definitely come check it out!
